Rising Stars, The Grind, and Picture Day
Hello and welcome, this is The Players Meeting. I read everything on the internet, so you don’t have to.Email Read Time: 4 Minutes & 31 Seconds
If you missed the Tallahassee primer, then I got you: Full Rides for Frisbees
Let’s get into it.
The Open at Tallahassee (Silver Series)
Fun fact straight from the man himself: In 1985, the 1st disc golf course at Tom Brown Park was installed with 18 wood posts as targets by Allen “The Grandfather of Tallahassee DG” Risley.
RESULTS - 🏆 ALBERT TAMM & STACIE HASS
MPO/ Like The Masters, the winner had a dominating weekend. Albert Tamm shot hot the 1st two rounds and maintained the lead on championship Sunday.
From the 3rd card, Matty O tried to put the pressure on, but even his double digits couldn’t climb Tamm’s mountain of a lead. The Bazooka averaged a rating of 1044.
FPO/ The 18-year-old, Stacie Hass, made her name known at this Silver Series. She seemed to be in her own world, focused and comfortable with everything. You would have thought Hass was a tour veteran, but it was only her 8th DGPT event.
STANDOUT PLAYER
Enough can’t be said about Stacie Hass at Tallahassee. Coming in with less than 2 years of professional play, she averaged 967 rated play.
Hass’s potential hasn’t been a secret to many. Being her 1st real year on tour, this is only the start. The next generation of players is here.
HIGHLIGHT
It’s good to have Matty O back on coverage.
Mental Health Mondays
Tour life isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a grind.
Heather Young is taking a break from it. The rising 19-year-old has had a rough start to the season and has fallen out of love with the game.
“If I’m not loving disc golf, then it’s kind of pointless because that’s what makes you a good competitor.” - Heather Young
By taking an undetermined amount of time off, she’s hoping to regain her competitive fire. It’s hard to say whether her performance is driving this or vice versa.
But regardless, this will not be the last time you’ll hear from Young. Her talent and personality will find her success even if it’s with a more “normal” life.
Chandler Fry is another pro who’s been feeling the grind. He dropped out of the Open at Tallahassee due to his lower back and mental health.
To help his battle against negativity, he’s hosting “Mental Health Mondays.” Each week, Fry will post a video reminding himself of the joys of life without competition.
To kick it off, he had 3 reminders to those also struggling:
You are not alone.
You are loved.
There’s always someone out there willing to talk.

Insights by Daddy Disc Golf. SHOP THE SHACK for the latest!
👨🏫 Daddy’s Highlight: MVP TerraMVP recently released the latest disc in the James Conrad Line. It’s a dependable OS fairway driver (8|5|0|3).
This is the disc Conrad has been waiting for. His 2021 Tour Volts were holding him over with their unusual OS flight, but now he can use the Terra for that slot.
The Terra flies TRUE to its flight numbers. It’s the straight to dumpy disc that Conrad used the Thunderbird & Firebird for during his Innova days. Faster arm speeds will find many uses for it.

1️⃣ Shower thought of the day: Disc golf can take you anywhere. On the Chain Clankers podcast, Avery Jenkins shared one of the many reasons why he can’t quit this thing.
Unlike most sports, getting to play a new course in a new location is amazing. You don’t travel to play on a different basketball, soccer, or tennis court.
And usually, you have no business traveling to a faraway town, off the beaten path. But disc golf can take you to the side of a cliff, a park on an island, or really wherever.
Disc golf is life.
2️⃣ Lots of us have crazy course stories. Here’s the best one from a recent Reddit thread:
