If you missed the TX States primer, then I got you: Eagleā€™s broken wing

Letā€™s get into it.

Texas State Championship

RESULTS - šŸ† RICKY WYSOCKI & PAIGE PIERCE

MPO/ Somehow the man doesnā€™t lose at this tournament. Ricky Wysocki won this weekend to go 6 for 6 at every TX States heā€™s played.

After an insane 1st round, Paul McBeth fell off the leaderboard quicker than a putt in the wind. And it became a 3-man race between Wysocki, Calvin Heimburg, and Gregg Barsby.

Heimburg played his heart out. From 80ft+ putts to a birdie on the hardest hole, he tried to put the pizza in the oven. But Wysocki wasnā€™t going to settle for 2nd.

This is Wysockiā€™s 1st win of the season and the 1st DGPT win ever by a Dynamic Discs player. He missed one C1X putt and averaged 1072 rated golf to win by 1 stroke.

FPO/ Most people checked the scores Saturday and decided not to watch the final round. It looked like a runaway victory.

But it was another nail-biter between the 3 best women. Coming into the final hole, Paige Pierce had 1 stroke on Kristin Tattar and 2 on Catrina Allen.

Fortunately, Pierce was 3rd on the box and watched them throw. They BOTH made crucial mistakes and threw OB on their drives.

With ice in her veins, Pierce steps up to bomb her drive into perfect position. And she finishes strong with a tap-in birdie to win her 1st Pro Tour event of the year.

STANDOUT PLAYERS

MPO/ Jeremy Koling came in 6th place. This was his best finish at a DGPT Elite Series in the past 2 years.

The big man himself reminded everyone heā€™s still pretty good. And if you needed another reminder, then watch his player profile again on JomezPro.

FPO/ Kona Panis is back in the top 10 for the 1st time this year. Since her contract announcement, sheā€™s been living in its shadow.

But this weekend, she pushed aside her poor mental game. Maybe this will be the start of her turnaround.

Putting Tips from šŸ“

Do you spin, push, or combo (spush) putt? You probably have no idea. Either way, Joel Freeman thinks youā€™ve been doing it wrong.

The real debate is between nose down and nose up putts. Freeman used a nose down putt for his entire career but decided to make a switch.

If youā€™re not sure what the difference is, then picture Ricky Wysockiā€™s putting style (down) vs. Simon Lizotteā€™s (up). The two couldnā€™t be more different.

Here are the main reasons why heā€™s switching:

  • Longer range for C2 bids

  • Easier control in the wind

  • Fewer spit outs

Test out the different styles next time youā€™re at a practice basket. You may find yourself agreeing with Freeman and changing your putt.

Now whether you agree with his choice of style is a different debate. Most people either hate it or love it. But Freemanā€™s out here to have fun and the bright-colored attire is one way he can express himself to the world.

šŸ‘Øā€šŸ« Daddyā€™s Disc of the Week: Discmania Neo MutantDonā€™t bother waiting for Teslaā€™s Cybertruck. Grab Discmaniaā€™s take on it.

The Mutant is unlike any midrange Iā€™ve ever held. There are ZERO rounded surfaces on the disc. Even with its very sharp angles and hard edges, the disc fits well for BH and FH.

The design makes the disc extremely overstable with minimal glide. So roll off with your Cybertruck-load of turbo beef today (3/29) at 11 AM EST.

And if you want a fairway compliment, then the Discmania Neo Splice drops at the same time. Itā€™s mega beef instead of turbo, but if you need a Captainā€™s Raptor in Discmaniaā€™s buttery Neo plastic then Iā€™ve got you.

Random Dubs

1ļøāƒ£ The auction for the Maple Hill baskets happened this weekend. It was done casually on FB live through Steve Dodgeā€™s page.

With the slight delay on the feed, there were just a few controversies. But they got it figured out and had the bids rolling.

Most of the baskets went for around $300. And the notable ones went home to people you know:

  • Kevin Jones won Hole 16 Gold for $700

  • Adam Hammes won Hole 18 for $650

The auctions didnā€™t go as high as some predicted, and it might not ever happen again. The DGPT is in the process of making its own basket. There will be one standard basket used at all Pro Tour events in the near future.

2ļøāƒ£ Ricky Wysocki is winning in more ways than one this week.
