Stokely's Empire, Glow Season, and PositiveNikko

Hello and welcome, this is The Players Meeting. The only email that glows better than Eclipse 2.0 plastic.Email Read Time: 4 Minutes & 44 Seconds

If you missed the off-week primer, then I got you: Not a Game of Perfect

Letā€™s get into it.

Player Profile: Chandler Kramer

Chandler Kramer was asked this by his parents. In the DiscGolferā€™s Fall edition (PDGA magazine no one wants), Kramer was interviewed after his 5th place at European Open.

He explained that this was a test year, and he passed with flying colors. With off-season looming, Kramer said heā€™ll upgrade his tour life with help from his main sponsor - Lone Star Disc.

The Lorena, TX native will be traveling in a converted van with a tour partner. But while Kramer has proved he can compete on Tour, he still shows his inexperience.

Everyone struggles with unlucky breaks, but Kramerā€™s moody attitude has been on display. At the Butler County Classic, his frustrations were clear as he lost his lead to Joel Freeman.

Only 2 years in, his experience will only improve as will his mental game. On this weekā€™s ā€œFH-friendlyā€ Winthrop course, Kramer will be tested and could be the dark horse at USDGC.

The Scott Stokely Universe

After a 20-year hiatus from competing on Tour, Scott Stokely quickly built himself up. This is not an ad, but admiration for the 52-year-old and what heā€™s been able to do since being back.

In June 2021, he announced that he was preparing to hit the Tour full-time. The hype train started, and he played in every DGPT event he could.

Since then his empire has grown:

  • YouTube Channel (19k subscribers to 45k)

  • Stokely DG Method of teaching: Increased certified coaches & online program

  • Socials: FB (12k followers), Instagram (22k), Adventures (New)

  • Weekly live streams on YouTube & FB

  • Discord Channel (New)

Itā€™s without a doubt, Stokely is one of the hardest working players while also sitting at 103rd for DGPT points. But since his success isnā€™t found on the course, he plans to create his own 2023 ā€œWorld Tourā€ and compete outside the US.

While he wonā€™t pop up on coverage next year, you can bet heā€™ll find a way to remain on your radar. Itā€™ll be interesting to see how his ā€œempireā€ evolves in the coming years.

Fresh Plastic

Sponsored by Powergrip USAā€¦ A PRETTY GOOD disc golf shop.

šŸ‘‰ Powergripā€™s Highlight: Kastaplast GlowItā€™s not just spooky season. Itā€™s glow season. And thereā€™s no better way to celebrate than grabbing some of the best plastic around.

For years, Kastaplast has been the leading manufacturer of glow. Their discs stay bright long after Innovaā€™s or Discraftā€™s fade and get lost.

Kastaplastā€™s latest releases - K3 Glow Reko X (3|3|0|2) & K1 Glow StĆ„l (9|4|0|3) - are available right now. These two are all you need to navigate your local course in the dark.

The Reko X is Luke Samsonā€™s 2022 Tour Series disc. Samson is an ex-baseball player whose power BH/FH combo rival those at the top of the game.

His TS is a recent addition to Kastaā€™s lineup. Itā€™s the more OS version of their flagship putter and can handle any torque or wind conditions that Samson puts it through.

The StƄl does that too but in 9-speed form. Comparable to the Sexton Firebird, this disc will provide control and accuracy while lighting up the fairway.

Prevent seasonal depression today with basket lights, a UV flashlight, and glow discs. Use PLYRSMTGOCT22 for 10% off your Powergrip USA order.

Random Dubs

1ļøāƒ£ The 2023 DGPT Schedule was released over the weekend.

2023 is looking like a banger of a season. Set your eyes on your favorite event(s), request those vacation days, and start looking into tickets cause the Tour is only getting bigger and better.

2ļøāƒ£ To much surprise, Nikko Locastro was seen playing the USDGC course on his socials. No, heā€™s not allowed to play this weekend, but his suspension appeal was heard.

It has been reduced from 9 months to 6 months. This 1/3 reduction was moved to his probation period instead (up from 15 months to 18).

This means heā€™ll be able to compete at PDGA events on Tour starting February 9th, 2023. This reduction gives him his full 2023 season back.

It seems like those who were on his side from the beginning (McBeth and many others) are now happy. #FreeNikko #PositiveNikko
