TOUR COVERAGE
MVP Open (Playoff)
PREVIEW (9/14-17)
Itās officially here. We made it to the land of the famous Sap House, Hot Dog Annieās, Christmas tree bunkers, and winning pond jumps. The list of must-sees and dos is endless at the #1 property in the world - Maple Hill.
Thereās really not much to say about this place that you donāt already know. For 20 consecutive years, itās been pushing the limit of whatās possible for a premier event on a private course.
To honor those 2 decades, letās take a trip down memory lane of a few iconic momentsā¦
2015 - Dave Feldbergās windy ace on Hole 3 of the final round.
2016 - A chipmunk possibly caused Michael Johansen to lose in a 3-hole playoff against Bradley Williams.
2020 - Kevin Jonesās slip ace that was seen around the world. It wasnāt during the MVP Open, but itās clearly an honorable mention.
2020 - Paul McBethās victory lap 100-footer on Hole 18. He successfully defended his title to go back-to-back.
This is the final stretch of the season, and itās only big ones from here on out. Who will be jumping into the pond on Sunday? And how will the DGPT standings shake out?
The 4 days of action start today. Are you ready?
LAST YEAR RECAP
MPO/ š„Simon Lizotte (-16) š„Corey Ellis (-15) š„McBeth/Buhr (-14)
Through lightning, heavy rain, and finally calm conditions, the weekend came to a surprising end. Ellis fought to have a well-deserved win served up on a silver platter.
He was one upshot away from taking down his 1st DGPT event. But the moment was too big, and he pulled his FH approach wide left.
Suddenly, it was the hometown heroās tournament. Lizotte won from the chase card to cap off a dream year with 4 DGPT wins.
FPO/ š„Natalie Ryan (+1) š„Kristin Tattar (+1) š„Paige Pierce (+2)
For the 1st two days, there was so much red on scorecards I thought I was watching a Saw movieā¦ But thankfully, Sunday gave us a back-and-forth battle.
Pushing each other to a playoff, Tattar was dethroned by Ryan who went with the aggressive line on the 1st hole (18). It was her 2nd win of the season.
PLAYER TO WATCH
This morning, Kristin Tattar will walk onto the course as the highest-rated FPO player of all time. On Tuesday, her PDGA rating updated to 999 and broke the previous record set by Pierce in March 2021 (996).
If it wasnāt clear already, Tattar has surpassed what we thought was possible. In her career, sheās won 57% of her tournaments played (89 out of 155).
If she averages a rating of at least 999 for the next month, then she should hit the 1000-rated mark. While this milestone is subjective, itāll go down as the biggest accomplishment in the modern era.

The Difference Between Good & Great
Thereās a common understanding amongst top pros that the jump from 1000 to 1020+ rated is more than distance or putting stats. There are mental cues and deeper insights that make good players great.
Lately, Ricky Wysockiās practice rounds have been a wealth of knowledge into tips and tricks that most never think of. Here are 3 that stood out in his recent Maple Hill round:
1/ Shot Selection - Most AMs will step up to Maple Hillās iconic Hole 5 and only think about FHāing their most OS driver to avoid getting wet. Thatās where theyāre wrong.
Wysocki goes with one of his less OS Felons so it glides and travels more to the right. If he went with his most OS, then itād spike early into the water.
2/ Patent Pending - When lining up a patent pending shot, pre-turn your hips toward the target. If you donāt, then youāll typically overcompensate and yank too far right.
Pre-turning will improve your timing to be like a normal standstill. Youāll notice that his stance is more open than youād assume when picturing a patent pending shot.
3/ Wet Putts - Wet rounds happen. You can dread them, but you canāt run from them.
No matter how many towels you bring, water seeps through everything. Your pop and spin suffer, so adjust by aiming a few chain links higher than normal.
Are these techniques simple? Yeah. Are they underappreciated and will save you strokes? You betcha.

SLOW-MOS & PLASTIC FACTS
Random Dubs
1ļøā£ Dustin Wolfe - Cinematic Genius - blessed us with some beautiful slow-mo of two of the farthest throwing youngens on Tour.
ABās & Gannon Buhrās forms may look similar from the waist down, but look more closely at their reach backs. Thereās definitely a thing or two to learn from these clipsā¦
2ļøā£ Fun Fact: Innovaās Star and Champion plastics are nearly the same. The only real differences are additives that make up less than 2% of the final mix.
Yesterday, Kobyn Dunipace (Daveās youngest son and Innovaās General Manager) did a lengthy Q&A on Reddit. This insider info on their popular plastics was just a small snippet of what he shared.
Read the full thread for way more insights from one of Innovaās head honchos.
